Having intention is the key to a live well lived. While planning for some involves simply recording to-do lists, I think planning should be used as a mechanism for living life full of intention. Since many of the pre-printed planners I like have an alternative start date in July, I thought now would be a good time to offer up some introspective questions that may aid you in setting intentions for your next calendar year! These are 20 of the questions I like checking in with on a fairly frequent basis as I embark on new paths in my life.
What areas of your life would be improved with more direction and intention?
What have your greatest successes been in the last year?
Think about what contributed to those successes. How can you build them in for yourself again?
What lessons have you learned that you don’t want to learn again, and how can you ensure you don’t?
What’s something that’s incredibly valuable to your life that you don’t do often enough? How can you schedule it more often?
What have you been over-emphasizing in your daily life, and how can you prune that hyper-focus?
What bad habit do you have that wastes too much of your valuable time?
What’s something really valuable you used to do that you’ve somehow stopped doing due to life circumstances? How will you reintroduce it into your life?
What was the most productive time in your life? What’re the habits or processes facilitated that productivity?
What long term goals have you yet to invest any effort toward? How might you change that?
Who in your life makes you a better person? How can you get closer to them while returning the favor?
What gets in the way of you doing what you really want to do?
What rejuvenates you?
In what ways can you channel your feminine energy?
What strengths do you possess that you’d like to cultivate?
What do you want to be known for?
What’s a recurring negative thought about yourself that you need to eliminate from your mental landscape?
What would it take for you to respect yourself and your efforts?
What are some things you’d like to start saying no to?
How does living your life well look in your imagination?
I hope that reflecting on these questions gives you deeper insights into becoming your best self. May you create a beautiful life and live it with beautiful intention!
